My NFT Collection (and why I probably won't sell it)

I decided I would create an NFT of real value, or what I perceive to be real value anyway. See, most of the stuff out there is meant to be resold rather than truly collected. So I thought I'd try to buck the trend (I'm not the only one by the way), and create something that I would look at and consider spending money on. What I also wanted to do, besides creating something a bit more utilitarian, was also to create a narrative through pictures.

At heart I'm a nerd. I may not always be the first to hop on a new trend, but if feel there's value there, there's a big chance I'll stick around even after everyone else has left. Like, I was a gamer and I've collected comic books, but we're now going off topic here. Anyway, that gamer aspect as well as me being a 3D artist got me to thinking about the narrative aspect and design aspects I was just talking about. But before I discuss that more, let me list the features:

  • Made by me, a person, not programmed, especially not taken off a youtube tutorial regarding a github plugin

  • As mentioned, it has a backstory

  • Each layer on original image meticulously worked on by me

  • Can be used in Blender or Anim8or as reference and/or texture

  • As mentioned before, has a backstory

  • Main image not pixellated

  • Limited collection

Okay, so, with all that, and with me not working, you'd think I'd be eager to mint and make money, right? But no, in spite of being approached by people to mrket for me and pay my gas fees... like, I'll find a way to mint, and I'm going to mint... but right now I genuinely don't want to sell to just anyone, and believe me, money isn't an issue. I want my work to have a good home. Stop laughing, I'm being serious.

Final Thoughts

From the very first time I heard about NFTs, I thought to myself ,"this is something I want to investigate", and I'm glad I did. What I'm doing now, I would have been doing before. This difference is, joining the NFT groups on Facebook, seeing what the trends are, etc.

NFTs have not only made it possible to make money and otherwise made other options available, they've also made me think about digital art in a different way. And I love it.
